Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Big third quarter in loss
Brunson notched 22 points (9-19 FG, 4-9 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Sunday's 118-105 loss to the Celtics.
Brunson scored 15 of his 22 points in the third quarter of Sunday's game to help the Knicks reduce the deficit to four points, but the All-Star point guard was held scoreless in the final frame. Brunson could be heavily relied on offensively against the 76ers on Wednesday if Karl-Anthony Towns -- who briefly left Sunday's game due to a knee injury -- is unable to play. Brunson has averaged 26.3 points on 49.1 percent shooting, 6.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 35.1 minutes per game since the beginning of February.

Knicks' Josh Hart: Turns in big numbers in return
Hart (knee) racked up 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds and nine assists in 40 minutes during Sunday's 118-105 loss to the Celtics.
Hart returned Sunday following a two-game absence due to right knee patellofemoral syndrome. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau didn't ease Hart back in, as the forward saw the second-most minutes of any of the team's nine rotation players. New York could still choose to include Hart on future injury reports, but with two full days to recover from the big workload he handled Sunday, the expectation is that he'll be ready to go Wednesday versus the 76ers.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Tweaks knee during Sunday's loss
Towns accumulated 24 points (9-20 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and 18 rebounds across 41 minutes during Sunday's 118-105 loss to the Celtics.
Towns briefly left in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game after landing awkwardly on a dunk attempt against Kristaps Porzingis. Towns was able to return quickly, and he told reporters after the game that he bypassed the medical staff's wishes to have his knee examined, per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. Towns' knee will be closely monitored over the next couple of days and could put him in jeopardy of missing Wednesday's game against the 76ers.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Returns to Sunday's game
Towns (knee) returned to Sunday's game against the Celtics with 4:12 left in the fourth quarter, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Towns limped to the locker room with 8:28 remaining in the fourth quarter but quickly returned to the bench. It's surprising to see the big man check back in, as the Celtics had opened up their lead to double digits again while Towns was sidelined. Towns posted 24 points (9-20 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and 17 rebounds in 37 minutes before suffering the injury.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Suffers injury Sunday
Towns limped to the locker room with 8:28 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Celtics due to an apparent lower-body injury, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Towns helped lead the Knicks back from a double-digit halftime deficit, but just as New York made it a game, the big man had to leave the contest after landing awkwardly on a dunk attempt. Towns quickly returned to the bench, but it's unclear if he'll check back in as Boston has a sizable lead once again. Towns posted 24 points (9-20 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and 17 rebounds in 37 minutes before suffering the injury.

Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Close to making season debut
Shams Charania of ESPN reported Sunday that Robinson (ankle) is aiming to make his 2024-25 regular-season debut over the coming week.
Robinson was recently cleared to participate in 5-on-5 contact practices and has been participating in full since. He's scheduled to have another session early in the week, by which time the Knicks will have a clearer idea of his return date. Based on Charania's reporting, Robinson could be available as early as Wednesday against the 76ers, or he could make his regular-season debut at some point during the Knicks' two-game road trip starting Friday against the Grizzlies.

Knicks' Precious Achiuwa: Back to bench Sunday
Achiuwa won't start Sunday's game against the Celtics, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Achiuwa has made seven straight starts, but with OG Anunoby (foot) and Josh Hart (knee) available, Achiuwa will shift back to his usual bench role. As a reserve this season (27 games), Achiuwa has averaged 5.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals-plus-blocks in 19.1 minutes per game.

Knicks' OG Anunoby: Good to go
Anunoby (foot) is available for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
After a six-game absence, Anunoby returned to action Friday, posting five points and a steal in 27 minutes during a blowout loss to Cleveland. He'll suit up again Sunday but remain on a minute restriction. With Josh Hart (knee) back in action, Precious Achiuwa will shift to the bench.

Knicks' Josh Hart: Will play Sunday
Hart (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Hart missed the first two games following the All-Star break due to right knee patellofemoral syndrome, marking his first absences of the season, but he was always considered day-to-day and will return to action Sunday. Across 53 appearances this season, Hart has averaged 14.7 points while shooting a career-high 55.6 percent from the field to go along with 9.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 37.8 minutes per game.

Knicks' Pacome Dadiet: Plays for first time since Jan. 17
Dadiet (toe) recorded seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two steals and one rebound in 12 minutes off the bench in Friday's 142-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
The rookie first-round pick made his first appearance for the Knicks or their G League affiliate since Jan. 17, with a right big toe sprain having kept him out of action for more than a month. Despite playing double-digit minutes, Dadiet wasn't part of head coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation while the game was competitive; he didn't enter the game until the Knicks were trailing by 31 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and he stayed on the court for the entire period. Dadiet is unlikely to see the floor Sunday against the Celtics if the Knicks are able to keep the game closer.

Knicks' Josh Hart: Questionable for Sunday
Hart (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Hart has missed the Knicks' last two games due to right knee soreness, but the veteran forward traveled with the team to Boston on Saturday and has a shot at being available. A decision on his status will likely be made closer to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET tipoff, but if Hart is available, he should return to the starting lineup right away. He's averaging 20.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game since the beginning of February.

Knicks' OG Anunoby: Iffy for Sunday's game
Anunoby (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
After missing the Knicks' final six games with a sprained right foot, Anunoby had been listed as questionable leading up to Friday's game against the Cavaliers. He received the green light to play and made a limited impact in the Knicks' 142-105 loss, finishing with five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and one steal over 27 minutes. Though he didn't suffer any reported setbacks Friday, Anunoby isn't yet at 100 percent full health, and the Knicks will likely wait and see how he's feeling closer to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET tipoff before deciding on his availability.

Knicks' Cameron Payne: Pedestrian effort off bench
Payne registered five points (1-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and four assists over 16 minutes during Friday's 142-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
Despite the nature of Friday's rout, Payne didn't see a noticeable increase in playing time while struggling to shoot the ball off the bench. The veteran guard has averaged 7.6 points, 4.3 assists, 1.1 rebounds and 0.7 three-pointers in 16.5 minutes over his last seven appearances, and Payne's fantasy value should remain capped while Jalen Brunson is healthy for the Knicks.

Knicks' Precious Achiuwa: Game-high 10 rebounds Friday
Achiuwa had seven points (3-10 FG, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes during Friday's 142-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
Despite the return of OG Anunoby (foot) on Friday, Achiuwa was able to maintain a spot in New York's starting lineup in the absence of Josh Hart (knee) and collected a game-high 10 rebounds. Achiuwa should be able to hang onto solid streaming value in fantasy leagues until the Knicks' first unit is back to full strength, with the 25-year-old big man averaging 11.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks in 35.2 minutes through eight games as starter this year.

Knicks' Mikal Bridges: Team-high five assists in rout
Bridges recorded 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt), one rebound, five assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Friday's 142-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
After hauling in a season-high 10 rebounds in Thursday's overtime win over Chicago, Bridges didn't make nearly as much of an impact on the glass but led the team with five assists Friday. The 28-year-old swingman remains a dependable presence in New York's lineup by not missing a single game and leading the NBA in minutes this season, and he's averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.8 three-pointers in 36.1 minutes across his last 11 contests.

Knicks' Miles McBride: Returning to bench
McBride isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Cavaliers, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
McBride will be replaced by OG Anunoby in the starting lineup Friday. McBride is averaging 8.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 21.9 minutes across his previous 10 appearances coming off the bench.

Knicks' OG Anunoby: Green light to return Friday
Anunoby (foot) is available for Friday's game against the Cavaliers, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Anunoby has missed the Knicks' last six games due to a right foot injury that he suffered against the Lakers on Feb. 1. He was able to practice in full Wednesday, and the 27-year-old has progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared to play Friday. Anunoby's return will likely lead to Precious Achiuwa seeing his playing time diminish over the coming games. However, the latter will remain in New York's starting lineup Friday while Miles McBride goes to the bench.
