  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Questionable to face Milwaukee

Brooks (illness) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.

Brooks is in jeopardy of missing his first contest since Dec. 27 due to an illness. If the 29-year-old forward is sidelined, Cam Whitmore and Jeff Green could see a bump in minutes. Brooks has averaged 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 30.4 minutes per contest over his last five outings.

  • Rockets' Jae'Sean Tate: Questionable with back spasms

Tate (back) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bucks,

After sitting out Saturday's game against the Jazz, Tate continues to deal with back spasms that leave his status in limbo for Tuesday. If the veteran forward needs to miss another contest, Jeff Green should act as the direct beneficiary of Tate's absence from a fantasy perspective after the former scored a season-high 16 points in 22 minutes Saturday.

  • Rockets' Fred VanVleet: Questionable for Tuesday

VanVleet (ankle) is questionable to face the Bucks on Tuesday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

VanVleet, who has been sidelined since Feb. 1, continues to trend in the right direction. He was able to practice Monday, and coach Ime Udoka said the Rockets are waiting to see how his body responds to the increased workload before determining his status against the Bucks. The Rockets have a record of 3-6 with VanVleet out of the lineup.

  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Fills up stat sheet again

Sengun recorded 27 points (11-24 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-8 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists and one block across 35 minutes during Saturday's 124-115 loss to Utah.

Sengun scored 18 of his 27 points in the first half of Saturday's game. He coasted his way to his 34th double-double of the season (and fourth in as many games), and he was three dimes shy from logging his fourth triple-double of the 2024 campaign. Sengun has averaged 19.5 points, 12.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists over 33.9 minutes per game across his last four outings.

  • Rockets' Jeff Green: Connects on four triples Saturday

Green had 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound and two assists in 22 minutes during Saturday's 124-115 loss to the Jazz.

Green has been in and out of the Rockets' rotation this season, but he played a more prominent role Saturday due to the absences of Tari Eason (lower leg), Jae'Sean Tate (back) and Steven Adams (ankle). Green took advantage of the opportunity by connecting on a season-high four three-pointers and finished as Houston's leading bench scorer. The veteran forward's playing time will hinge on the availability of others, so the Rockets' injury report will be worth monitoring heading into Tuesday's game against the Bucks.

  • Rockets' Jabari Smith: Struggles against Utah

Smith produced three points (1-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 29 minutes during Saturday's 124-115 loss to the Jazz.

In just his second game back from a 22-game absence due to fractured hand, Smith was inserted into the Rockets' starting lineup due to the absence of Tari Eason (lower leg injury management). Smith struggled to get anything going during Saturday's loss, missing on all but one of his eight field-goal attempts while finishing with a minus-10 point differential, which was tied with Jalen Green for worst on the team. Smith and the Rockets will look to bounce back against the Bucks on Tuesday.

  • Rockets' Jabari Smith: Starting vs. Utah

Smith is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Jazz, Lachard Binkley of SI.com reports.

Smith returned from a 22-game absence in Friday's win over the Timberwolves, posting 15 points (5-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 38 minutes off the bench, and he's back in the starting lineup due to the absence of Tari Eason (lower leg injury management). Smith has started in all but one of his 34 games this season, so he's likely to remain in the starting five for good now that he's healthy and back from the left hand fracture he suffered on Jan. 1.

  • Rockets' Cody Zeller: Still away from team

Zeller (not with team) is out for Saturday's game versus the Jazz.

Zeller hasn't made a single appearance in the 2024-25 campaign for Houston or Atlanta this season. Until the Rockets provide an update on when the veteran big man will join the team, he can be considered out indefinitely.

  • Rockets' Jae'Sean Tate: Working through back spasms

Tate (back) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Jazz, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.

Tate played just seven minutes during Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves, and it appears he may have tweaked his back in the process. His absence opens the door for a slight increase in playing time for Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard off the bench. Tate's next chance to play is Tuesday against the Bucks.

  • Rockets' Steven Adams: Won't play Saturday

Adams is out for Saturday's game versus the Jazz due to left ankle soreness.

Adams will miss the second leg of Houston's back-to-back Saturday due to a sore left ankle. Jock Landale will likely receive increased playing time as the backup center to Alperen Sengun in his absence. Adams' next chance to suit up is Tuesday's matchup with Milwaukee.

  • Rockets' Tari Eason: Won't play Saturday

Eason has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Jazz due to lower left leg injury management, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.

As expected, Eason will sit out of the second leg of the Rockets' back-to-back set Saturday after playing 27 minutes during Friday's win over the Timberwolves. Jabari Smith -- who made his return from a hand fracture Friday -- will likely be placed in the starting lineup due to Eason's injury. Eason's next chance to play will be Tuesday against the Bucks.

  • Rockets' Amen Thompson: Double-double in Friday's win

Thompson finished Friday's 121-115 win over Minnesota with 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and one steal in 40 minutes.

The second-year wing continues to put up impressive numbers on the glass. Thompson has pulled down at least nine rebounds in four straight games, and over his last 15 contests, he's averaging 16.3 points, 8.9 boards, 6.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.7 blocks while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor -- a stretch that also includes all three of his triple-doubles on the season.

  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Third straight double-double

Sengun accumulated 24 points (8-21 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 13 rebounds and two assists over 36 minutes during Friday's 121-115 victory over the Timberwolves.

After notching a double-double in each of the final two games before the All-Star break, Sengun picked up right where he left off when the Rockets' schedule resumed. The fourth-year center already has a career-high 33 double-doubles on the season. Over six full games since he returned from a calf injury in early February, he's averaging 20.2 points, 12.8 boards, 4.2 assists and 0.8 steals.

  • Rockets' Jalen Green: Leads charge with 35 points

Green racked up a team-high 35 points (12-24 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves.

The fourth-year guard benefitted from some rest over the All-Star break, as he topped 30 points for the first time since Jan. 15. Green's five made threes also led the Rockets, and through nine February contests, he's averaging 22.1 points, 4.1 boards, 4.0 assists and 2.9 treys.

  • Rockets' Tari Eason: Remains starter in Smith's return

Eason (lower leg) tallied 12 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes in Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves.

With the Rockets closing out their first-half schedule with a back-to-back set, Eason ended up sitting out the team's final game before the All-Star break on Feb. 13 against the Warriors due to lower leg injury management. As expected, Eason was available for the first game out of the break, and he somewhat surprisingly retained his spot in the starting five over Jabari Smith (hand), who made his return from a 22-game absence. Though Eason still saw solid minutes, Smith ended up seeing more playing time (38 minutes), and it could be a matter of time before he supplants Eason in the starting five. That could happen as soon as Saturday, when Eason will be a candidate to sit again for maintenance while the Rockets take on the Jazz. After Saturday, the Rockets will head into yet another back-to-back set, with games Tuesday versus the Bucks and Wednesday versus the Spurs.

  • Rockets' Fred VanVleet: Remains out Saturday

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka said prior to Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves that VanVleet (ankle) will remain out for Saturday's game in Utah, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.

Though VanVleet went through portions of the Rockets' first post-All-Star break practice Thursday, he reported soreness in his strained right ankle following the session, prompting Houston to hold him out for both legs of its back-to-back set. After Thursday's session, Udoka estimated that VanVleet was about "80 percent" healthy, noting that the veteran point guard still needs to take contact and get involved in up-and-down scrimmaging before returning to the lineup. With that in mind, VanVleet seems to be a good bet to miss one or both ends of another back-to-back set early next week, with the Rockets facing the Bucks on Tuesday and the Spurs on Wednesday. Aaron Holiday, Amen Thompson and Jalen Green should continue to see more opportunities initiating the offense while VanVleet is sidelined.

  • Rockets' Jabari Smith: Gets huge minutes off bench

Smith (hand) tallied 15 points (5-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 38 minutes in Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves.

Smith had started in each of his previous 188 NBA games, but the Rockets brought the 21-year-old power forward off the bench for the first time in his career after he had missed the previous 22 contests while recovering from a fractured left hand. Despite coming off the bench, Smith was operating with no restrictions, as he ranked third on the team in minutes and turned in an efficient scoring performance. Considering he had averaged 30.9 minutes per game for the season prior to getting hurt, Smith's 38-minute workload from Friday shouldn't be regarded as the new norm. However, Smith is likely to eventually take back his starting spot from Tari Eason, which could happen as soon as the Rockets' game in Utah on Saturday. Eason will be a candidate to sit out the second leg of the back-to-back set for lower leg injury management.
