Tatar ended his seven-game goal drought with the tally. In that slump, he managed just one assist. The 34-year-old winger has often seen bottom-six minutes, though he was on the second line at even strength Sunday. This was Casey's first NHL action since Oct. 19. The 21-year-old is set to compete with Simon Nemec for playing time during the absence of Jonas Siegenthaler (lower body). Casey has made a good first impression with five points (four goals, one assist), nine shots on net and a plus-4 rating over nine contests, though he is seeing sheltered minutes on the third pairing.

Hughes earned his second multi-point effort in seven outings, a span in which he has two goals and three assists. The 21-year-old defenseman didn't get any power-play time Sunday, but the Devils only had one abbreviated opportunity with the man advantage, so it's nothing to worry about at this time. Hughes is enjoying a strong second NHL campaign with 24 points, 76 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 50 appearances while maintaining his place on the Devils' deep blue line.

Devils' Jesper Bratt: Extends point streak Sunday
Bratt notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Predators.
Bratt's point streak has reached 10 games following another two-point effort, as he's achieved that feat six times over that stretch. The star winger is close to establishing a new career-high mark in assists, but if he stays healthy, he has a strong chance of setting a new mark in points in a single season following the 83-point campaign he posted in 2023-24. All told, Bratt has 68 points (17 goals, 51 assists) over 59 appearances this season, and he's earned 26 of those points with the man advantage.

Hischier didn't record a point in Saturday's loss to the Stars in his return to the ice following a six-game absence due to an upper-body injury, but he made his presence felt Sunday. This was the fifth time Hischier recorded two or more assists in a single game this season, and the 26-year-old center is up to 22 helpers, and 46 total points, across 53 games in 2024-25.

Noesen snapped an eight-game scoring drought with his power-play goal in the third period, giving him 19 tallies on the year. The 32-year-old veteran has 32 points on the season, and all signs point to him ending the 2024-25 campaign with career-best numbers in several categories. It's worth noting that he's scored 10 of his 19 goals in the power play, where he's found success as a net-front presence.

Palat opened the scoring for the Devils with a snap shot midway through the first period. Daws has made three appearances this season, and while that's not enough to generate a strong enough sample size, there's no doubt he's turned heads so far. Over those three outings, including two starts, Daws has given up just two goals across 61 shots. The 24-year-old should get the chance to return to the ice at some point during the Devils' current road trip, as the team's next four games will be away from home.

Daws will get the second half of New Jersey's back-to-back after Jake Allen played in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Dallas. The 24-year-old Daws has stopped 32 of 34 shots over two NHL outings this season. Nashville is tied for 29th in the league with 2.64 goals per game in 2024-25 and earned a 2-1 win over Colorado on Saturday.

The guy is hot. Bratt extended his point streak to nine games and 14 points (two goals, 12 assists). He's tied with Connor McDavid for fifth in the NHL with 49 assists, and he's 11th overall in scoring with 66 points. Bratt continues to pace toward a new career scoring mark and his first 90-plus point campaign.

Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Double-apple day in loss
Hamilton delivered two assists in a 4-2 loss to Dallas on Saturday.
Hamilton fired a game-high eight shots, and he delivered two hits and one block in 22:58. He sits tied with Roman Josi for 12th on the NHL defender scoring list with 38 points, one behind Erik Karlsson (39). Hamilton's 169 shots are rank third on that list, behind superstars Zach Werenski (205) and Cale Makar (179). That's impressive company.

Devils' Jake Allen: Curious trend in recent performance
Allen made 22 saves in a 4-2 loss to the Stars on Saturday. He allowed three goals.
Allen played well enough, but Casey DeSmith was all-world at the other end of the ice. He has to tip his cap to that kind of performance. Allen remains the lead 'tender with Jacob Markstrom (knee) out for a couple more weeks. Since Markstrom went down, Allen is 4-4-0 with two shutouts in seven starts. Those SOs came against the Flyers and the Habs, two subpar teams, and his wins came against the Habs (two), Flyers and Bruins. He also lost against the Flyers and the Sabres. Allen has allowed at least three goals in every other start. Honestly, that raises our anxiety a bit with the Devils facing the powerful Avs, Golden Knights, Stars and Jets over the next six outings.

Hughes scored twice in a 4-2 loss to the Stars on Saturday.
Hughes scored a power-play goal at 10:00 of the third period to get the Devils on the board, cutting the score to 2-1. He then reduced Dallas' lead to 3-2 at 11:40 with a snap shot from the left circle after Matt Duchene replied to his first goal. Hughes leads the Devils with 67 points (26 goals, 41 assists), and he's in the NHL's top-10 scorers.

Hischier (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup against Dallas on Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Hischier will return to a top-six role and a spot on the first power-play unit after missing the last six games. He has generated 24 goals, 43 points, 141 shots on net and 46 blocked shots through 51 appearances this season. With Hischier back in the lineup, Justin Dowling will be a healthy scratch versus the Stars on Saturday.
