  • Hockey Club's Ian Cole: Sticking in lineup amid slump

Cole has gone 14 games without a point dating back to Jan. 18.

The 36-year-old defenseman has held Utah's blue line together at times this season, but with Sean Durzi now healthy, Cole's usage may diminish. Even when the team was thin, Cole functioned more as a shutdown defenseman than a scorer. He's been pretty good in his role with 13 points, 50 shots on net, 51 PIM, 71 hits and 153 blocked shots over 58 appearances this season, but his fantasy utility is limited to deep formats that reward his physical play.

  • Hockey Club's John Marino: Snaps slump with helper

Marino logged an assist in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

Marino had a four-game assist streak at the end of January, but his offense ran cold for his first six outings in February. He found his way back on the scoresheet Sunday by setting up a Logan Cooley tally in the second period. Marino has seen power-play time occasionally this season, but with all of Mikhail Sergachev, Michael Kesselring and Sean Durzi healthy, Marino's unlikely to feature with the man advantage very often moving forward. The 27-year-old Marino is at six helpers, 16 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across 16 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Helps out on power play in win

Schmaltz logged a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

Schmaltz has three helpers (all on the power play) over three games since the 4 Nations Face-Off break. He went into the pause on a five-game skid. The 29-year-old forward is up to 11 goals, 33 helpers, 19 power-play points, 123 shots on net and a minus-13 rating over 58 appearances. Schmaltz continues to be a reliable source of offense in fantasy.

  • Hockey Club's Clayton Keller: Two more assists in win

Keller recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and two shots on goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

Keller has two goals and five helpers over seven outings in February. He had the secondary assist on goals by Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther in this contest, as Utah was able to rely on its top players in a low-scoring win. Keller is up to 20 goals, 43 assists, 156 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 57 appearances this season.

  • Hockey Club's Dylan Guenther: Tallies on power play

Guenther scored a power-play goal on three shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

Guenther's tally at 14:07 of the third period broke a 1-1 tie and stood as the game-winner. He's scored five times and added four assists over six games in February, and three of his goals this month have secured victories for Utah. The 21-year-old winger is up to 21 tallies, 22 assists, 126 shots on net and a plus-4 rating across a career-high 46 appearances. He's productive, he's clutch and he's firmly in a top-six role -- fantasy managers shouldn't hesitate to have a game-changer like Guenther in their lineups.

  • Hockey Club's Logan Cooley: Scores in return

Cooley scored a goal on two shots and added four PIM in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

Cooley returned from a seven-game absence and scored the game-tying goal in the second period. The 20-year-old was limited to 13:44 of ice time in a close contest, which suggests that while he's healthy enough to play, head coach Andre Tourigny doesn't want to push Cooley too hard just yet. Cooley has matched his rookie-year point total (44) already, earning 16 goals and 28 helpers over 51 appearances while adding 112 shots on net and a plus-5 rating. Once his ice time rebounds to the level of a top-six forward, the Pennsylvania native figures to be a strong fantasy option down the stretch.

  • Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Lightly tested in win

Vejmelka stopped 14 of 15 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canucks.

The lone goal against was a Jake DeBrusk power-play tally early in the second period. Vejmelka has won three of his last four outings, and while he's given up 11 goals in that span, six of them came in one game. He's now 14-15-4 with a 2.52 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 35 appearances this season. Vejmelka and Connor Ingram are likely to split the playing time going forward unless one of them gets on a significant hot streak. Utah hosts Chicago on Tuesday.

  • Hockey Club's Logan Cooley: Activated from IR

Cooley (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Despite being considered a game-time decision, Cooley appears poised to return from a seven-game absence versus Vancouver on Sunday. He has amassed 15 goals, 43 points, 110 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and 36 hits in 50 appearances this season. Cooley will be in the mix for a top-six role and a spot on the first power-play unit, while Liam O'Brien could be a healthy scratch against the Canucks.

  • Hockey Club's Juuso Valimaki: Lands on waivers

Valimaki was placed on waivers Sunday.

Valimaki appeared in 43 games for Utah this year, logging two goals and five points, though he'd been a healthy scratch in their last eight contests. The 26-year-old blueliner figures to report to AHL Tucson, should he clear waivers.

  • Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Facing Canucks

Vejmelka will patrol the home crease against Vancouver on Sunday, according to Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune.

Vejmelka will get the second half of Utah's back-to-back after Connor Ingram played in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings. The 28-year-old Vejmelka has a 13-15-4 record with one shutout, a 2.57 GAA and a .909 save percentage through 34 appearances this season. Vancouver ranks 24th in the league with 2.77 goals per game in 2024-25 and lost 3-1 to Vegas on Saturday.

  • Hockey Club's Logan Cooley: Game-time call Sunday

Cooley (lower body) will be a game-time decision Sunday against Vancouver, Belle Fraser of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Cooley had missed Utah's last seven games with the injury, though it appears he has a chance to return to the lineup Sunday. The 20-year-old forward has 15 goals and 43 points through 50 games this season.

  • Hockey Club's Michael Carcone: Bags helper in loss

Carcone notched an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Carcone has a point in three straight contests (one goal, two assists). He continues to fill in on the second line, though that's likely to end once Logan Cooley (lower body) returns -- and Cooley returned to practice in a non-contact jersey earlier in the week. Carcone is now at 13 points, 61 shots on net, 38 hits, 27 PIM and a minus-7 rating over 39 appearances. He's got the versatility to handle a larger role at times, but he's best deployed in a bottom-six spot.

  • Hockey Club's Sean Durzi: Earns helper in return

Durzi logged an assist, four shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Durzi missed over four months due to shoulder surgery. The 26-year-old blueliner saw 21:37 of ice time in his return to action, and he helped out on Barrett Hayton's third goal of the contest. Durzi has three helpers, seven shots on net, 15 blocked shots, seven PIM and a plus-2 rating through five appearances this season. He could eventually be a candidate for power-play time, but it doesn't appear he'll be in the mix for that role right off the bat following his lengthy absence. He can still add a scoring touch and a physical edge, so Durzi is a player to watch in deeper formats.

  • Hockey Club's Dylan Guenther: Draws power-play assist

Guenther provided a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Guenther has four goals and four assists over five games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The 21-year-old winger has earned a power-play point in three straight contests, and Saturday's outing was the first time he had fewer than five shots on net during his current point streak. Guenther has been a breakout star in 2024-25 with 20 goals, 22 helpers, 19 power-play points, 123 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 45 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Clayton Keller: Slides helper with man advantage

Keller notched a power-play assist, seven shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Despite taking a quarter of Utah's shots, Keller was unable to cash in a goal. He's still been consistent lately -- he hasn't gone multiple games without a point since October, and he has two goals and three helpers over six outings in February. For the season, the 26-year-old winger is up to 20 goals, 41 assists, 25 power-play points, 154 shots on net and a minus-9 rating across 56 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Two power-play assists in win

Schmaltz logged a pair of power-play assists and earned a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Schmaltz picked up his first points in February, assisting on the first two goals of Barrett Hayton's hat trick. Power-play production has been the norm for Schmaltz. He earned six of his 12 points in January with the man advantage. The 28-year-old forward is in a top-line role with a spot on the first power-play unit. For the season, he has 43 points (18 on the power play), 120 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating across 57 appearances.

  • Hockey Club's Barrett Hayton: First hat trick in Utah history

Hayton had a hat trick consisting of two power-play goals and an even-strength tally in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings.

Hayton will enter the Utah trivia books, as he is the first player with a hat trick in franchise history -- the Hockey Club didn't inherit the Coyotes' history and is officially considered an expansion franchise. Hayton was perhaps an unlikely candidate for the feat, considering he entered Saturday on an eight-game goal drought and has yet to hit the 20-goal mark in any season of his career. The 24-year-old center is on a career-best pace with 15 goals, 32 points, 102 shots on net and a plus-4 rating across 57 appearances this season.

... See More ... See Less
  • Hockey Club's Connor Ingram: Poor showing against Kings

Ingram stopped 21 of 25 shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Kings. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

The 4 Nations Face-Off break came at a good time for Ingram, who was able to bounce back from an upper-body injury suffered Feb. 9 versus the Capitals. His performance wasn't particularly good Saturday, and he allowed more than three goals for the first time in five outings in this loss. Ingram is 9-8-4 with a 3.27 GAA and an .882 save percentage over 22 contests this season. Utah has been alternating goalies lately, and Karel Vejmelka is likely to start Sunday versus the Canucks. Whether that pattern continues down the stretch will likely depend on each netminder's performance and Utah's ability to stay in the playoff race.
