Ducks' Trevor Zegras: Receives three-game suspension
The NHL Department of Player Safety suspended Zegras on Monday for three games for interference against Detroit's Michael Rasmussen (upper body) on Sunday.
Zegras delivered a late hit to Rasmussen's head with 2:43 remaining in the second period of Anaheim's 5-4 overtime loss to the Red Wings on Sunday. The 23-year-old Zegras will be eligible to play March 4 against Edmonton. He has produced seven goals, 16 points and 70 shots on net in 34 appearances this season. Due to Zegras' absence, Cutter Gauthier or Robby Fabbri could receive an increased role.

Ducks' Mason McTavish: Supplies assist in overtime loss
McTavish notched an assist, three shots on goal and three hits in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
McTavish had gone three games without a point prior to Sunday. Before the short slump, he had seven goals and three assists over a 10-game span. The 22-year-old saw 19:18 of ice time Sunday, his third-highest total in a game this season, which bodes well for his usage going forward. He's at 28 points, 108 shots on net, 50 hits, 28 PIM and a minus-4 rating across 50 appearances, putting him on pace to again reach the 40-point mark.

Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Provides assist in loss
LaCombe dished an assist and blocked three shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
LaCombe's helper was on Cutter Gauthier's first tally of the game in the second period. LaCombe remained active on the ice, providing great fantasy stat coverage with two shots, three blocks, two takeaways and a hit. The 24-year-old blueliner is up to 18 assists, 27 points, 103 shots on net and 86 blocks in 49 games this season. LaCombe has three assists in his past two games and has exceeded 25 minutes per game in both contests since the 4 Nations Face-Off. His increased ice time and value as a playmaker on Anaheim's blue line make him a top waiver-wire target in all fantasy formats.

Ducks' Olen Zellweger: Scores late goal
Zellweger tallied a goal, took four shots on net and blocked two shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss against Detroit.
Zellweger found the back of the net with just over two minutes to play in regulation, which brought the Ducks within striking range before Cutter Gauthier scored the game-tying goal. The 21-year-old Zellweger is up to five goals, 14 points, 88 shots on goal and 46 blocks in 43 games this season. While he has been competing for ice time on Anaheim's blue line over the past few months, Sunday's all-around performance helps Zellweger's case to maintain his role. The Ducks have stronger options in fantasy for defensemen, but Zellweger has a bright future if he can replicate Sunday's overall output more frequently.

Ducks' Ryan Strome: Nets goal Sunday
Strome scored a goal and fired three shots on goal in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Red Wings.
Strome tallied the lone goal of the first period for Anaheim just over three minutes after Detroit initially went up 3-0. The 31-year-old center is up to eight goals, 31 points and 99 shots on net in 56 games this season. Sunday's goal was Strome's first since the calendar flipped to 2025, which ended a 19-game drought without finding the twine. During this stretch, Anaheim's top-line center has been a consistent playmaker with 11 assists. Strome's ice time and playmaking give him some value in deeper leagues, but there are likely better options available on waivers in most fantasy formats.

Gauthier tallied Anaheim's second goal of the game midway through the second period before putting away an unassisted goal with just under a minute to play in regulation. Sunday's performance helped the No. 5 pick from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft reach the double-digit goal mark as a rookie. The 21-year-old winger is up to 11 goals, 24 points and 118 shots on net in 56 appearances this year. The young prospect now has four goals over his past seven games, which is his best stretch of the season. While Gauthier's goal-scoring has taken a step up, he is currently in a 16-game drought without an assist. Better all-around offensive fantasy threats are likely available on waivers in standard formats, but his uptick in goals is noteworthy in deeper leagues.

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Concedes five in OT loss
Dostal made 31 saves on 36 attempts in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Red Wings.
After appearing in relief of John Gibson (upper-body) in Saturday's contest, Dostal drew the start on Sunday and allowed three goals in the first 5:06 of the game. While this inflated his stats on paper, two of Detroit's goals came just 30 seconds apart after the Ducks took two penalties at 4:21 of the first period. With the loss, Dostal's record dropped to 16-13-5 with a 2.92 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Sunday's contest was the 24-year-old's fifth occurrence of allowing five or more goals this season. As Gibson is considered day-to-day, Dostal could be called upon again to guard Anaheim's crease Tuesday against the Sabres.

Zegras will face a suspension for his hit on Detroit's Michael Rasmussen on Sunday. At a minimum, fantasy managers should be expecting the 23-year-old Zegras to be out of action for Tuesday's game against Buffalo, though it could certainly be longer. LaCombe is already having a career year and has become a staple for Anaheim's top defensive pairing. Zegras' tally was the first of two that Anaheim put away in the first period. He remained active on the ice all night, taking four other shots across 19:08 of ice time. The 23-year-old forward is up to seven goals, 16 points and 67 shots in 33 games this season. After he missed the majority of December and January with a torn meniscus in his right knee, Zegras has six points over his last nine appearances. While he is still trying to recapture the momentum he had from the 2021 and 2022 campaigns, the ninth overall selection from 2019 has shown steady offensive output since his return from injury. Zegras' potential gives him solid value in fantasy.

Carlsson's goal came with just under a minute and a half remaining in the contest. His assist was on Trevor Zegras' opening goal in the first period. Dostal entered the game in relief of John Gibson, who sustained an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old goaltender has a 16-13-4 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .911 save percentage. Saturday's victory extended Dostal's personal winning streak to five games, and he's allowed just nine goals in that span. While Dostal has been splitting games with Gibson, he already surpassed his career high in wins before the 4 Nations Face-Off break and will continue to add to his career year. He is likely to start Sunday against the Red Wings with Gibson potentially sidelined.
