Draisaitl put the Oilers ahead 1:42 into the game with the opening goal, but the Capitals were up 2-1 by the first intermission and never looked back. Skinner has contributed four goals and six points in his last 10 games despite being shuffled to the fourth line. Hyman's secondary assist on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' third-period tally gives him four goals and seven points in his last 10 games -- further proof that the 32-year-old's dismal production early in the season may be behind him. Hyman could use regular even-strength minutes alongside the likes of Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl to boost his fantasy appeal, but with 16 goals and 25 points in his last 32 games, Hyman generates enough offense on his own to be a serviceable asset in almost any format.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Notches two points
Nugent-Hopkins tallied a goal, a power-play assist and a blocked shot during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Capitals.
Nugent-Hopkins netted his 16th goal of the season too late for the Oilers to mount a comeback. The first overall pick from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has been one of the Oilers' most consistent producers in recent weeks with nine goals and 18 points in his last 21 games. A return to a top-six role would be welcome, but Nugent-Hopkins will continue to be a worthwhile fantasy play as long as he's getting exposure to the top power-play unit alongside the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Pickard got staked to an early lead before the high-octane Capitals roared back in a duel of backup netminders. The 32-year-old will fall to 14-6-0 in 22 starts and has now dropped consecutive decisions after a five-game win streak during the month of January.

Pickard will get the second half of Edmonton's back-to-back after Stuart Skinner played in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia. The 32-year-old Pickard has a 14-5-0 record with a 2.52 GAA and a .901 save percentage in 21 appearances this season. Washington sits first in the league with 3.64 goals per game in 2024-25 and posted an 8-3 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Oilers' Ty Emberson: Produces assist in loss
Emberson notched an assist, four shots on goal, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers.
Emberson snapped a six-game point drought with the helper. The 24-year-old blueliner remains limited to a third-pairing role and has 10 assists through 54 contests. That matches his point total from 30 games with the Sharks last season -- he's also averaged 14:50 of ice time in his first year with the Oilers, which explains a large amount of his drop in production. He's added 83 hits, 72 blocked shots, 45 shots on net and a plus-2 rating this season.

Ekholm scored a goal and went minus-3 in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers.
Ekholm's goal briefly tied the game at 3-3 in the second period, but the Oilers didn't have another comeback in them. The defenseman has two goals and five assists over his last eight NHL outings, and he was also on Sweden's roster during the 4 Nations Face-Off, so he didn't have a break for the past two weeks. The 34-year-old blueliner is now at eight goals, 25 points, 123 shots on net, 80 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating through 55 appearances this campaign.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Allows five in loss
Skinner stopped 26 of 31 shots in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Philadelphia. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.
The Flyers' second line of Owen Tippett, Matvei Michkov and Sean Couturier were Skinner's kryptonite Saturday, as the trio collected eight points (four goals, four assists) in the game. Skinner struggled through a 2-3-1 stretch in seven appearances before the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off, and Saturday's performance won't inspire much confidence. Still, he should benefit once his team gets their collective groove back.

He earned his first NHL point in his second career appearance. Savoie set up Leon Draisaitl at the midway point of the first period to put Edmonton up 2-1. The 21-year-old Savoie has 13 goals and 37 points in 45 games with AHL Bakersfield this season.

Draisaitl has 11 points (six goals, five assists) during a seven-game point streak, including four straight multi-point efforts. He has 41 goals and 85 points in 56 games this season. Draisaitl has a firm grip on the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy right now, with an eight-goal advantage on William Nylander. Draisaitl is also two points behind league leader Nathan MacKinnon. Draisaitl swept the Art Ross Trophy, Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award in 2020, but he could do one better with four awards this season. He's been that good.

Oilers' John Klingberg: First goal since April 2023
Klingberg had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to the Flyers on Saturday.
The goal was sweet. There was nothing special about it -- Klingberg fired it past Samuel Ersson from the left faceoff circle. However, it was his first regular-season goal since April 3, 2023. Klingberg is six games into his NHL comeback after having hip surgery in December 2023.

Oilers' Evander Kane: Resumes skating
Kane (hip/knee) started skating Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Kane is reportedly going at about 60 percent and will require weeks of ramping up. He hasn't played since Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals versus the Panthers in June. The winger underwent surgery to repair two hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles in September and a knee surgery in January, so he's been through a lot without playing this season and may face an uphill battle to get back in the lineup once healthy.

Oilers' Matthew Savoie: Set for team debut
Savoie will be recalled from AHL Bakersfield ahead of Saturday's game versus the Flyers, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Savoie is expected to make his Oilers debut and just his second NHL appearance in the contest. The 21-year-old is projected to play alongside Leon Draisaitl at even strength, though many forwards in the Oilers' top six occasionally see shifts skipped. Savoie has excelled in the AHL this season to the tune of 37 points over 45 appearances and has been practicing with the big club this week prior to his call-up becoming official.

Skinner has a 20-12-4 record, 2.74 GAA and .900 save percentage in 37 appearances in 2024-25. He was going through a rough patch before the 4 Nations break, allowing nine goals on 62 shots (.855 save percentage) across his past three outings. The Flyers rank 24th in goals per game with 2.79.
