Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Unavailable Monday
Liljegren (upper body) won't play against Winnipeg on Monday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Since being acquired from Toronto on Oct. 30, Liljegren has four goals, five assists, 68 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and 47 hits in 44 appearances with the Sharks. He is still being evaluated to determine a timeline for his return, but he will miss at least one game after suffering an injury in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Calgary. Due to Liljegren's absence, Marc-Edouard Vlasic will be in Monday's lineup.

Sharks' Vitek Vanecek: Tending twine in Winnipeg
Vanecek will defend the road crease against the Jets on Monday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Vanecek returned to action just before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, but he wasn't particularly effective over two starts, going 0-1-1 with a 5.01 GAA and .828 save percentage. He'll face a tough test Monday, as the Jets rank second in the NHL with 3.60 goals per game.

Sharks' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Earns first helper of season
Mukhamadullin logged an assist in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Mukhamadullin picked up his first assist since his most recent recall from AHL San Jose. The 23-year-old has played in four straight games and should continue to have a spot in the lineup while Jan Rutta (lower body) and Timothy Liljegren (undisclosed) are unavailable. Mukhamadullin is at two points, 12 shots on net, 17 blocked shots and eight hits through 14 appearances this season.

Sharks' Jake Walman: Secures first 30-point campaign
Walman notched an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Walman has logged three assists over eight contests since his last goal. He's still arguably the best blueliner the Sharks have, at least for fantasy. The 29-year-old is up to 30 points for the first time in his career, doing so in a mere 45 appearances. He's added 114 shots on net, 91 blocked shots, 44 hits and a minus-1 rating while skating in a top-four role.

Sharks' William Eklund: Logs helper in loss
Eklund provided an assist and 14 PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Eklund's point streak is up to four games (one goal, three assists) to begin February. He had three multi-point efforts in January, but none since Jan. 21. The 22-year-old also showed a little fire with a misconduct penalty late in the loss Sunday. Eklund is up to 41 points, 97 shots on net, 22 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 53 appearances while seeing steady top-six usage this season.

Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Scores early in loss
Celebrini scored a goal on six shots and blocked two shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Celebrini has remained consistent lately with five goals and four helpers over his last nine outings. The 18-year-old has been held off the scoresheet just twice in that span. For the season, he's up to 18 goals, 41 points, 156 shots on net and a minus-19 rating over 46 appearances. He could mount a challenge for the 60-point mark as a rookie even though he missed 12 contests early in the campaign due to a lower-body injury.

Sharks' Tyler Toffoli: One of each in Sunday's loss
Toffoli scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Toffoli extended his point streak to six games (four goals, four assists) with this performance. The winger continues to play well on the top line, and that hasn't changed since Mikael Granlund was dealt to the Stars. Toffoli is up to 21 goals, 38 points, 159 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-17 rating through 55 appearances, offering reliable scoring in a top-six role for the Sharks while being a strong depth option in fantasy.

Sharks' Alexandar Georgiev: Takes sixth straight loss
Georgiev stopped 33 of 36 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.
Georgiev actually had a fairly decent performance, but it still wasn't enough in this contest. He's lost his last six decisions and has given up 26 goals over seven games in that span. The state of the Sharks' defense as well as Georgiev's own flaws as a goalie make him a highly risky option for fantasy. He's now 10-19-0 with a 3.64 GAA and an .876 save percentage through 33 appearances between the Sharks and the Avalanche in 2024-25. Vitek Vanecek is likely to get the nod Monday in Winnipeg.

Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Departs Sunday's game
Liljegren (undisclosed) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Flames.
Liljegren logged two shots on goal, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating in 11:21 of ice time before exiting. The Sharks have a quick turnaround following Sunday's contest -- they'll face the Jets on Monday. If Liljegren is unable to play in that matchup, Marc-Edouard Vlasic will draw back into the lineup.

Sharks' Alexandar Georgiev: Tending twine Sunday
Georgiev will guard the road goal against Calgary on Sunday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.
Georgiev hasn't posted a victory since Jan. 14 against Detroit, going 0-5-0 while allowing 23 goals on 161 shots in his last six outings. He has a 10-18-0 record with a 3.66 GAA and an .875 save percentage across 32 appearances between San Jose and Colorado this season. Calgary is tied for 29th in the league with 2.64 goals per game in 2024-25.

Sharks' Nico Sturm: Activated off injured reserve
Sturm (lower body) is off injured reserve Saturday, which sets the stage for him to play Sunday versus Calgary.
Sturm has five goals and 11 points in 41 appearances in 2024-25. He hasn't been in the lineup since Jan. 20 against Boston. The Sharks will likely use Sturm in a bottom-six capacity now that he's healthy.

Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Suffers injury in AHL game
Askarov (lower body) was hurt in Wednesday's game between AHL San Jose and Ontario, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Peng adds that Askarov was favoring his left leg, though an official update on the prospect goaltender was unavailable. In any case, it's unlikely that Askarov will be available in the short term if the Sharks need to call up a goalie.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Expected to return Sunday
Wennberg (upper body) will be good to return Sunday versus Calgary, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports Wednesday.
Wennberg has eight goals and 23 points over 52 appearances in 2024-25. He missed the Sharks' previous four games due to the injury. Walker Duehr is projected to be a healthy scratch against the Flames after playing in the Sharks' past seven games.

Sharks' Jan Rutta: Still not close to return
Rutta (lower body) is healing slower than anticipated and is not expected back soon, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News adds that Rutta has not started skating following the resumption of practice Tuesday. It's possible Rutta will miss all of the Sharks' upcoming seven-game road trip, which runs through Mar. 6 at Colorado. The 34-year-old blueliner already missed six games prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off and is likely to be out a while longer, though his depth role on the Sharks' blue line means his absence doesn't make much of an impact in fantasy.

Sharks' Nikolai Kovalenko: Won't be ready for start of trip
Kovalenko (upper body) could return during the middle of the Sharks' seven game road trip, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Kovalenko's return is not imminent. The Sharks begin a seven-game road trip in Calgary on Sunday, but it sounds like the winger will miss at least a couple more games before he's activated from injured reserve. Kovalenko will bolster the Sharks' bottom six once he's able to rejoin the active roster.

Sharks' Alexander Wennberg: Has chance to play Sunday
Wennberg (upper body) has "one more hurdle to cover" but is likely to play Sunday versus the Flames, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Wennberg's recovery has him on track to return shortly -- he has already missed four games. The 30-year-old's status should be updated again in the coming days once he is officially cleared. Wennberg's return should help replenish the Sharks' center depth after they traded Mikael Granlund to the Stars on Feb. 1.

Sharks' Nico Sturm: Probable to play Sunday
Sturm (lower body) is expected to be back in action Sunday versus the Flames, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.
Sturm missed the last eight games prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 29-year-old will need to officially be activated off injured reserve if he is cleared by the Sharks' medical staff ahead of the resumption of the team's schedule.
