Christian Benford BUF CB
Bills' Christian Benford: Clears concussion protocol
1h agoHead coach Sean McDermott told reporters Monday that Benford has cleared concussion protocol and has resumed football activities, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Benford suffered a concussion during the first quarter of the Bills' AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs, and it wasn't until about a week after the game that he cleared protocol, per Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo. Benford finished the 2024 regular season with a career-high 64 tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, 10 pass defenses (including two interceptions) and two forced fumbles over 15 games.

Charley Hughlett CLE LS
Charley Hughlett: Time up in Cleveland
2h agoThe Browns released Hughlett (ribs) on Monday.
Hughlett, who was Cleveland's second-longest tenured player, had two years remaining on his contract with the team. The veteran long snapper ended the 2024 campaign on IR due to an hip injury, but he projects to be fully healthy for the start of free agency.

Cooper Rush DAL QB
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Too pricey for Dallas?
3h agoCowboys COO Stephen Jones said the team thinks highly of Rush but won't necessarily re-sign him, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
"You know how much we think of [Rush]," Jones said. "We just don't know what he's going to cost. When we're paying [Prescott what we're paying him, unfortunately we do have to go cheap there." Jones also hinted at the likelihood of third-stringer Trey Lance moving on to a new team, potentially leaving the Cowboys to sort through rookies or bottom-of-the-barrel veterans for the backup QB work in 2025. Rush has won nine of 14 starts in his career, likely putting him near the top of the backup market even though he's 31 years old.
-
Trey Lance DAL QB
Cowboys' Trey Lance: Likely moving on from Dallas
3h agoCowboys COO Stephen Jones said Lance is "probably going to be looking for something different" this offseason, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Lance was the Cowboys' third-string quarterback the past two seasons, after they traded a fourth-round pick for him shortly before the start of the 2023 campaign. He played decent in his one start -- a 23-19 loss to Washington in Week 18 of this past season -- but it sounds like the Cowboys would rather draft a new quarterback to develop behind starter Dak Prescott. Both Lance and second-stringer Cooper Rush are scheduled for free agency this spring, with Jones already suggesting that Rush's solid work as a backup may have priced him out of the Cowboys' range.

Stefon Diggs HOU WR
Texans' Stefon Diggs: May move on to greener pastures
3h agoTexans GM Nick Caserio suggested he's open to re-signing Diggs (knee), but Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle thinks it's unlikely to happen unless the wideout accepts less money than he could get from other teams.
Be it in Houston or elsewhere, there's no question Diggs will have to settle for less than he's accustomed to earning, as he's 31 years old and suffered an ACL tear in late October. He's set to become a free agent while still rehabbing the knee injury, with no assurance of being ready for Week 1 of 2025. The Texans figure to be in the market for high-end WR talent even if they ultimately re-sign Diggs, having lost Tank Dell to a multi-ligament knee tear in late December. Although he's six years younger than Diggs, there's not much reason for optimism about Dell being a significant contributor in 2025. The Texans do at least have Nico Collins, who emerged as one of the league's bonafide No. 1 receivers the past two seasons.
-
Ben Bartch SF G
49ers' Ben Bartch: Inks one-year extension
3h agoThe 49ers signed Bartch (ankle) to a one-year contract extension Monday.
Bartch missed the final four games of the 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury which resulted in his placement on IR, but he projects to be fully healthy for the start of offseason activities. If Aaron Banks (knee) departs in free agency, Bartch could get a chance to compete for the starting gig at left guard.

Matthew Stafford LAR QB
Rams' Matthew Stafford: Extension or trade both possible
3d agoThe Rams hope to reach a contract agreement with Stafford (ribs) but may try to trade him if the two sides can't agree on numbers, Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire reports.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Friday that the Rams recently gave Stafford's agent permission to talk with other teams to help assess the QB's value. The idea, it would seem, is for the Rams to figure out if they're willing to pay Stafford as much as another team would, which can move negotiations forward (or not). His contract was also an issue last offseason, when Stafford had three years remaining without any guaranteed money. The Rams adjusted his contract in July, but now they have a similar situation at hand, with Stafford scheduled to make $27 million and $31 million for the final two years of his contract. Those figures are way below market value for a competent starting QB, but that's partially because Stafford received a huge signing bonus in 2022 and a restructure bonus in 2024, which is reflected in his cap hits for the next two seasons ($49.7 million and $53.7 million). An extension would allow the Rams to lower those cap hits while making Stafford happy, but it would also mean adding to the eventual dead-money cap charge when he's retired or released. Stafford turned 37 earlier in February, and right now it's not clear he'll be back in Los Angeles for 2025.
-
Aaron Rodgers NYJ QB
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Could be swayed by good situation
3d agoRodgers recently said he's more likely to continue his football career if he can find a good team that really wants him, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.
That's more difficult than it sounds, especially after Rodgers' unsuccessful tenure in New York. The Jets have already informed him they're "moving in a different direction", and with minimal chance of trade interest it's only a matter of time until he's released. The teams most likely to consider signing the 41-year-old QB aren't the ones generally considered to be "good," and Rodgers may end up looking at a short list of suitors even if he's flexible on his stated criteria. A couple of the teams that theoretically might have interest would probably prefer to see what happens in free agency and the NFL Draft before settling for Rodgers as their Week 1 starter in 2025.
-
Andy Dalton CAR QB
Panthers' Andy Dalton: Inks two-year extension
6d agoThe Panthers signed Dalton on a two-year, $8 million contract extension Tuesday.
Dalton's new extension includes $6 million guaranteed and carries a maximum value of $10 million with incentives, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. In nine appearances with Carolina over the last two seasons, the 37-year-old signal-caller has tossed nine touchdowns and six interceptions, with perhaps his most impactful contribution coming as a mentor for Bryce Young. Dalton will give the Panthers some stability in the quarterback room as Young looks to build on his Year 2 improvement.
-
Kyle Allen PIT QB
Steelers' Kyle Allen: Operates as third wheel
6d agoAllen appeared in one regular-season game for the Steelers in 2024, completing his only pass attempt for 19 yards.
Allen saw little action behind Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. The team's quarterback situation for 2025 is up in the air, but Allen is set to become an unrestricted free agent and it's unclear what the chances are that he will be brought back.
-
James Cook BUF RB
Bills' James Cook: Wants extension, more playing time
3d agoCook is seeking a contract extension and said he'd like to get more playing time as well, Ryan Talbot of newyorkupstate.com reports.
Cook scored 18 touchdowns during the 2024 regular season despite playing just 48 percent of snaps in his 16 appearances. He got a carry or target on 50.5 percent of his snaps, which helped make up for the modest playing time and allowed for a second straight 1,000-yard rushing season. He's perhaps the most obvious TD regression candidate in the league for 2025, but he can make up for any losses in per-touch productivity if the Bills give him a larger workload. That's far from guaranteed, of course, considering Cook is one of the league's smaller lead backs (listed at 190 pounds) and has 2024 fourth-round pick Ray Davis behind him on the depth chart. Ty Johnson also got a lot of playing time in 2024, mostly in clear passing situations, but he's scheduled for unrestricted free agency, whereas Cook has one year remaining on his rookie contract.
-
Nyheim Hines CLE RB
Nyheim Miller-Hines: Time in Cleveland ends
6d agoMiller-Hines (knee) was released by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston Reports.
Miller-Hines was expected to return from an ACL tear at some point during the 2024 campaign, but that never came to fruition. The former Colt and Bill hasn't seen action in an NFL game since 2022, and he'll need to prove he's healthy to get a look from another team.
-
Joshua Kelley TEN RB
Titans' Joshua Kelley: Limited work in 2024
6d agoKelley appeared in three regular-season games for the Titans in 2024, getting one carry for two yards.
Kelley latched on with Tennessee in mid-October after being unable to make the Giants' 53-man roster out of training camp. The former Charger started on the practice squad but spent much of the campaign as a healthy scratch after being signed to the Titans' active roster in November. Headed for free agency this spring, Kelley will likely latch on somewhere as a camp body, but he'll struggle to find a regular role in an NFL backfield.
-
DeeJay Dallas ARI RB
Cardinals' DeeJay Dallas: Mostly used on special teams
7d agoDallas tallied nine carries for 49 yards and no touchdowns, three catches (on three targets) for 11 yards and one TD and 15 kick returns for 459 yards and another score in 17 games during the 2024 campaign.
Dallas took advantage of the NFL's new kickoff rules, reeling off a 98-yard TD return in a Week 1 loss at Buffalo. He was limited to special teams through Week 8, but as injuries took a toll on the Arizona backfield down the stretch, he earned touches in each of the last four contests. He's under contract through 2026, but with James Conner (knee), 2024 third-rounder Trey Benson (ankle) and Emari Demercado (back) also on the books, Dallas should remain primarily a special teamer.
-
Emari Demercado ARI RB
Cardinals' Emari Demercado: Ends campaign on IR
7d agoDemercado (back) took 24 carries for 223 yards and one touchdown, hauled in 16 of 20 targets for 104 yards and no TDs and returned three kickoffs for 64 yards during 13 regular-season games in 2024.
Prior to landing on injured reserve due to a back issue after Week 14, Demercado operated in a regular, albeit small, role out of the Cardinals backfield, seeing touches in all but one of his appearances. He averaged a robust 9.3 YPC on the campaign, and even if one removes his two runs of 40-plus yards, he boasted 5.9 YPC on his other 22 rushes -- a shade above the 4.9 he logged as an undrafted rookie in 2023. With both James Conner (knee) and 2024 third-rounder Trey Benson (ankle) under contract next season, Demercado will remain a depth RB for Arizona in 2025.
-
Louis Rees-Zammit JAC RB
Jaguars' Louis Rees-Zammit: Getting second opportunity
7d agoRees-Zammit re-signed with the Jaguars on Monday.
Rees-Zammit came to the NFL in the spring of 2024 as part of their International Player Pathway Program after playing rugby in Wales. Originally viewed as a running back and rushing six times for 22 yards during the 2024 preseason with the Chiefs, Rees-Zammit was waived. He caught on with Jacksonville soon after but remained on the team's practice squad throughout the season.
-
Stefon Diggs HOU WR
Texans' Stefon Diggs: May move on to greener pastures
3h agoTexans GM Nick Caserio suggested he's open to re-signing Diggs (knee), but Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle thinks it's unlikely to happen unless the wideout accepts less money than he could get from other teams.
Be it in Houston or elsewhere, there's no question Diggs will have to settle for less than he's accustomed to earning, as he's 31 years old and suffered an ACL tear in late October. The Texans do at least have Nico Collins, who emerged as one of the league's bonafide No. 1 receivers the past two seasons.
-
Cornell Powell SEA WR
Cornell Powell: Let go by Seattle
3d agoThe Seahawks waived Powell on Friday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Powell spent the second half of the 2024 regular season on the Seahawks' practice squad, and he was signed to a reserve/future contract in early January despite never being elevated to the active roster. Assuming he clears waivers, the 2021 fifth-round pick will look to catch on with another team looking to add depth to its wide-receiver corps.
-
Keith Kirkwood BAL WR
Ravens' Keith Kirkwood: Back with Baltimore
5d agoThe Ravens re-signed Kirkwood on Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Kirkwood spent the entire 2024 campaign on Baltimore's practice squad, though he didn't appear in a single game with the team, despite being elevated for the Ravens' AFC wild-card round win over Pittsburgh. The veteran journeyman will spend the offseason competing for an opportunity to reprise a similar reserve role in the 2025 campaign.
-
Chris Godwin TB WR
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Has void date on contract extended
6d agoThe Buccaneers and Godwin (ankle) agreed Tuesday to push back the void date on his contract to March 12, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Godwin is slated to become an unrestricted free agent, and by extending the veteran wideout's void date until the final day of the league year, the two sides will have more time to negotiate a new deal. Auman notes that Tampa Bay will carry some dead money in 2025 from Godwin's current deal no matter what, but the Buccaneers will be able to spread that cap hit over the next two years -- as opposed to having all $18 million on the books next season -- if they are able to work out an extension with the soon-to-be 29-year-old. Godwin ended last season on injured reserve after suffering a dislocated left ankle in Week 7, but he's expected to be healthy by the start of training camp.
-
Kyle Philips PHI WR
Raiders' Kyle Philips: Gets opportunity with Las Vegas
6d agoThe Raiders signed Philips to a contract Tuesday.
Philips spent the entirety of the 2024 campaign on the Eagles' practice squad, failing to play at least one game for the first time since he was selected by Tennessee in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The 5-foot-11 wideout has played in 13 regular-season contests during his career, compiling 23 receptions on 35 targets for 259 yards and no touchdowns while also handling kickoff and punt return duties. His move to Las Vegas will reunite him with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who served as UCLA's head coach during the four seasons Philips played for the Bruins.
-
Jha'Quan Jackson TEN WR
Titans' Jha'Quan Jackson: Finds role in return game
6d agoJackson appeared in 12 regular-season games during the 2024 campaign, catching one pass (on three targets) for eight yards while totaling 627 return yards.
Jackson was never able to secure a significant role on offense after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He did serve as Tennessee's primary punt and kickoff return man to begin the season, but the Tulane product was a healthy inactive for the final five games, leaving his role with the squad up in the air for 2025.
-
Donald Parham Jr. DEN TE
Steelers' Donald Parham: Signs with Pittsburgh
3d agoParham signed a one-year contract with the Steelers on Friday.
Parham went undrafted in 2019 but caught on with the Chargers a year later and ended up starting 23 of his 47 regular-season games from 2020 to 2023. He's the tallest tight end in the league, but perhaps also the thinnest, listed at 6-foot-8, 237 pounds. The Chargers put him to use near the goal line, with Parham recording 11 TDs among his 67 career receptions. He was released in August and then spent part of the season on Denver's practice squad, never appearing in a game. Parham will turn 28 shortly before the start of the 2025 campaign and has his work cut out for him to earn a roster spot.
-
Gerald Everett CHI TE
Gerald Everett: Will be released
3d agoThe Bears recently informed Everett that he will be released, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Signed to a two-year, $12 million contract last offseason, Everett opened the 2024 campaign in a timeshare with Cole Kmet but didn't keep the role for long. Kmet was back in his familiar role as a near-every-down player by the end of September, leaving Everett as the No. 2 tight end in an offense dominated by three-wide sets. Everett finished the season with eight catches for 36 yards on 13 targets, ending his five-year streak of seasons with more than 400 receiving yards. He'll turn 31 in June and figures to settle for a smaller contract this offseason.
-
George Kittle SF TE
49ers' George Kittle: Discussing extension
3d agoKittle's agent has already discussed a contract extension with the 49ers, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Kittle's contract runs through 2025, and while the 49ers may be wary of committing to the 31-year-old beyond the next few years, they'll likely work toward a deal that gives him guarantees for the upcoming season and 2026 while reducing his 2025 cap hit ($22.02 million). Kittle recently revealed that he played with cracked ribs for much of 2024, although it wasn't evident in his performance -- he had the second-most receiving yards (1,106) and second-most TDs (eight) of his eight-year career while posting personal bests for catch rate (83.0 percent) and yards per target (11.8). He did miss two games, due to separate hamstring injuries, and played just 29 percent of snaps in the season finale. In his 14 full games, Kittle fell shy of 40 yards just once and scored double-digit PPR points 12 times, leading tight ends in fantasy points per game in both PPR and standard-scoring formats.
-
David Martin-Robinson TEN TE
Titans' David Martin-Robinson: Finds role late
6d agoMartin-Robinson played five regular-season games for the Titans in 2024, catching one pass (on two targets) for six yards.
Martin-Robinson joined Tennessee as an undrafted free agent out of Temple in the spring and went on to make their 53-man roster. However, the 25-year-old spent much of the season as a healthy inactive before finally getting the opportunity to suit up in Week 14, appearing in the Titans' final five contests. Still under contract for next season, Martin-Robinson will try to earn a larger workload in 2025.
-
Connor Heyward PIT TE
Steelers' Connor Heyward: Sees role diminish
6d agoHeyward appeared in 17 regular-season games for the Steelers in 2024, making six catches (on eight targets) for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Heyward didn't see the field as much this past season as he did during his sophomore campaign in 2023. The Michigan State product saw his offensive snaps drop from 383 to 194, while his catch and yardage total also fell. As long as Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington remain healthy for the Steelers, Heyward's usage will be limited.
-
MyCole Pruitt PIT TE
Steelers' MyCole Pruitt: Plays small role in 2024
6d agoPruitt appeared in 12 regular-season games for Pittsburgh in 2024, making six catches (on 10 targets) for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Pruitt suffered a multi-week absence due to a knee injury, leading to his lowest reception and yardage totals since 2020. The 31-year-old is set to be an unrestricted free agent this spring and with Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth entrenched as the top two tight ends for the Steelers, it's unclear if Pruitt will be brought back.
-
Cameron Dicker LAC K
Chargers' Cameron Dicker: Makes career-high 39 field goals
7d agoDicker converted 39 of 42 field-goal attempts and 33 of 36 extra-point attempts across 17 regular-season appearances with the Chargers in 2024.
Dicker also converted both of his field-goal attempts during Los Angeles' wild-card round loss to the Texans. The 24-year-old kicker remains a reliable piece alongside the Chargers offense, having now posted three consecutive seasons with a 90-plus percent field goal conversion rate. He remains under contract with the team through the 2028 campaign, though Los Angeles will have a potential 'out' in his contract to evaluate after the conclusion of the 2025 season.
-
Evan McPherson CIN K
Bengals' Evan McPherson: Limited to 12 games in 2024
7d agoMcPherson (groin) converted 16 of 22 field-goal attempts across 12 regular-season appearances with the Bengals in 2024. He also went 37-for-38 on PATs.
McPherson ended his campaign with a career-low 73 percent conversion rate on field goals before landing on IR with a groin injury in early December, with all four of his misses coming from 50-plus yards out. He inked a three-year, $16.5 million extension with Cincinnati last August, meaning McPherson remains under contract through the 2027 campaign.
-
Harrison Butker KC K
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Decent effort in 2024
11d agoButker knocked home 21 of his 25 field-goal attempts and 29 of his 31 extra-point tries in 13 games during the 2024 regular season.
Butker notably missed four contests from Weeks 11-14 due to a left knee injury, but he was again pretty reliable when healthy. Of his four field-goal misfires on the season, three of them came from north of 50 yards out, so it's not a major concern. He remains under wraps with Kansas City through the 2028 season, but his fantasy prospects next season don't seem quite as bright backing a Chiefs offense that has finished middle of the pack in scoring the last two seasons after finishing among the top five in both 2021 and 2022.
-
Matthew Wright TEN K
Panthers' Matthew Wright: Inks deal with Carolina
13d agoThe Panthers signed Wright to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Wright spent time with Kansas City, the 49ers and the Titans in 2024, converting 15 of his 16 field-goal attempts and all six of his extra-point tries. With Eddy Pineiro set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, Wright's signing provides Carolina with another option at kicker.
-
Zane Gonzalez WAS K
Commanders' Zane Gonzalez: Fills in capably for Seibert
18d agoGonzalez made six regular-season appearances and three playoff appearances for the Commanders in 2024, en route to converting 12 of 15 field-goal attempts and all 27 PATs.
The Commander signed Gonzalez in November as a replacement for Austin Seibert, who missed the final two months of the regular season and all of the postseason with a hip injury. Gonzalez filled in capably, making his first regular-season appearances since 2021 and missing only three kicks in nine games. He's scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason and will turn 30 in May.
-
Riley Patterson ATL K
Falcons' Riley Patterson: Kicks for three teams in 2024
26d agoPatterson went 4-for-7 on field-goal attempts and made all 16 of his extra-point tries across five regular-season games in 2024.
Patterson lost out to Cade York for the Commanders' kicking job during training camp. It wasn't until October when Patterson managed to find work, and he ended up playing for the Jets, Falcons and Browns during the 2024 campaign due to injuries to those team's respective kickers. Patterson ended the regular season in Atlanta after Younghoe Koo (hip) was placed on IR. Patterson enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, but he should have no problem garnering interest from teams looking for a veteran place kicker to serve as the starter or to bring in competition.
-
Christian Benford BUF CB
-
Isaiah Pola-Mao LV SS
Raiders' Isaiah Pola-Mao: Gets two-year extension
5h agoThe Raiders signed Palo-Mao to a two-year contract extension worth up to $8.45 million Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Palo-Mao had been a restricted free agent. After starting Las Vegas' final 14 regular-season games and ending the 2024 campaign with 89 tackles (57 solo), including 1.0 sacks, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles (17 appearances), Pola-Mao has successfully secured a role with the Raiders for the next two seasons.
-
Juan Thornhill CLE FS
Browns' Juan Thornhill: In line to be released
7h agoThornhill said Monday that the Browns have informed him he will be released at the start of the new league year in March, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Thornhill will be designated a post-June 1 cut, a move that will save Cleveland $3.2 million against the cap for 2025. The veteran safety has one year remaining on the three-year, $21 million contract he inked with the team back in 2023. Thornhill struggled with injuries during his Browns tenure, playing just 11 regular-season games in each of his two campaigns with the team. Down the stretch in 2024, Thornhill found himself splitting defensive reps relatively evenly with Ronnie Hickman.
-
Shaq Green-Thompson CAR OLB
Panthers' Shaq Thompson: Won't be re-signed by Carolina
7h agoThe Panthers announced Monday that the team will not work to re-sign Thompson (Achilles) this offseason, instead allowing him to walk in free agency.
Thompson, a 2015 first-round pick and Carolina's longest-tenured player, played out the 2024 campaign on a one-year, $3.1 million deal. He tallied 35 tackles (16 solo) across four-regular season appearances before suffering a torn Achilles, an injury which figures to significantly dampen his free agent market. The veteran linebacker, who will turn 31 in April, was also limited to just two regular-season games in 2023 before suffering a fractured fibula.
-
Nolan Smith PHI OLB
Eagles' Nolan Smith: Undergoes surgery to repair triceps
3d agoSmith had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn triceps that he suffered during the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win over the Chiefs on Feb. 9, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Smith played at least 52 defensive snaps in each of the Eagles' first three playoff games, but he was limited to just 30 snaps on defense in the Super Bowl after tearing his triceps in the first half. He was able to play through the injury in the second half, and the 2023 first-round pick is expected to be ready for the 2025 campaign after undergoing surgery. Smith finished the 2024 regular season with 42 tackles (22 solo), including 6.5 sacks, two pass defenses, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 16 games.
-
DeMarcus Walker CHI DE
DeMarcus Walker: Cut by Chicago
3d agoThe Bears released Walker on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Walker started in all 17 regular-season games for the Bears in 2024 and finished with 3.5 sacks and a career-high 47 combined tackles. He had one year left on his three-year, $21 million contract that he signed in March of 2023, but the Bears have freed up an extra $10.75 million of salary cap space by cutting Walker, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times. Now entering the offseason as a free agent, Walker should receive plenty of interest from teams looking for a veteran upgrade to the defensive line.
